Attribution Model

An attribution model is the rule that decides which click or touchpoint is credited for a conversion — last-click (the final click wins), first-click, or multi-touch (credit spread across touches).

Why it matters for your earnings

The model changes your reported earnings for the exact same traffic, and most affiliate programs use last-click — so it explains why your numbers and a brand's numbers rarely match.
